Liverpool's Star Offers Regret to Squad, Reveals Curtis Jones

The Liverpool midfielder has shared that the Egyptian forward said sorry to the entire Liverpool squad following the uproar from his public comments.

The Fallout

He was omitted from a European match following making accusations and stating his relationship with manager had deteriorated.

“Salah is an individual and he can say his own stuff,” the midfielder said. “He said sorry to the group and was like: ‘If I’ve affected anybody, I'm sorry.’”

Arne Slot has chosen not to disclose on whether he was apologised to from the 33-year-old forward.

Moving Forward

He emphasized that the squad's reaction was unchanged. “Nothing about him changed, his demeanour was positive and it was business as usual,” the midfielder explained.

Jones also implied that a teammate fighting for a place is preferable. “I get that there are specific approaches you can go about things,” he said. “However, if a player is content to just sit out, then I think that’s a bigger problem.”

On-Field Response

Their results have remained strong in the period after the interview fallout. He feels the forward's comments were not designed to harm the team.

“If passion has boiled over, the source has been from a good place,” he finished. “We’re past that now and we’re building chemistry, playing well and starting to win games.”
