History of Incidents
Since the onset of the large-scale conflict in Ukraine, a number of Russian military personnel have been targeted within Moscow.
This new event follows other serious incidents, such as:
- General Yaroslav Moskalik was lost his life in a car bomb attack in Moscow earlier this year.
- General Igor Kirillov perished in late 2024 when a explosive hidden on a scooter was set off from a distance.
While a informant earlier attributed Kirillov's death to Ukraine's security service, such allegations are not formally acknowledged as a matter of policy.
The conflict has been marked by clandestine operations extending into the streets of the Russian capital.
The investigation into General Sarvarov's death is still underway.
